Westlake Boys High Claim NZ Secondary Schools Title 3 Years In a Row

Palmerston North Girls High School and Westlake Boys High School have claimed their respective New Zealand Secondary Schools Titles for the third year in a row.

In the Boys Final Westlake Boys High School took on St Pauls Collegiate A in a rematch of the 2016 final. It was St Paul's who took an early lead with two match wins over the Westlake team. Westlake kept their cool in their match and their top seed Matthew Lucente got them back onto the board. It was all in Westlakes direction from there as they took the next 2 matches and claimed the title for the third year in a row.

In the Girls Final Palmerston North Girls High School was too strong for their opponents Napier Girls High School and whilst Napier Girls high put up a great fight throughout the tie it was not meant to be as Palmerston North High School took the win 5-0.

Congratulations to all the teams who competed in the event and Sport Manawatu for hosting the event in assistance with the SquashGym and Feilding squash clubs.

Congratulations also to Auckland players Elijah Thomas (Eden Epsom), Ben Tomlinson (Eden Epsom), Mason Smales (Henderson), and Dileesia Henare (North Shore) for being selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools team to travel to Rockhampton from 20-26 August to play Queensland and NSW Secondary Schools:
