National Graded Champs (prev Champion of Champions)

The Champion of Champions is a popular national event that ran for the first time in 2012. The format is similar to that of the SuperChamps, but played on an individual basis.

2024 National Champ of Champs Event

The 2024 Champion of Champions National Finals will be hosted by the Henderson Squash Club (Auckland) on 21-23 June, 2024. 

Grading Lists

To be eligible for Champion of Champions in 2024, all players must be in their relevant grade around two months before the event (likely to be 18 April 2024 but tbc).

Change to Graded Champs Qualification (2023 onwards)

Following discussions with players and coaches Squash Auckland decided to change the qualification pathway for the 2023 Champ of Champs Nationals. Previously Squash Auckland held a district Graded Champs tournament (open entry) with the winners of the grades earning the right to be Auckland’s representative for that grade at the Champ of Champs national tournament. In recent years however, the entry numbers were very light for some grades.

To ensure the strongest side a decision was made to no longer hold the District Graded Champs and instead select the team to represent Auckland in the same manner as our other representative sides, with a selection panel inviting players to be Auckland’s representatives at the Graded Champs (previously called the Champ of Champs).  The team subsequently finished 1st equal in 2023 with hosts Northland.
