While the professional players were battling it out for the Auckland PSA Open titles on the North Shore, some of our sport's newest and youngest players were taking part in a Junior 1-Day tournament at the Franklin Squash Club on Sunday 30 May - the first in a series of four South Auckland Junior tournaments scheduled over the next few months.  

24 players descended on the club and were split into 4 teams before playing three games each between 10am and 3pm.  The teams format was a hit with players with Team Red taking out the event winning 14 of a possible 18 games.

A big thanks to James Green and the Franklin Squash Club for running the event, with funding support from Foundation North helping to make the tournament happen.

The next tournament in the series will be held at the Papakura Tennis & Squash Club on Sunday 4 July.  These tournaments are open to all junior players, graded or ungraded, and have an entry fee of only $10 per player.
